 Welcome to 5th Grade!

       
      I grew up on a farm and attended a
one-room schoolhouse.  I have been
teaching since 1970.  St. Pius X School has
been my home since 1986.  I have a Master's
Degree in Elementary Education.  I like to
read and watch movies.  The joy of my life
is my cat Teaser.

        This year I assume new responsibilities as I return to
full time teaching in grades four and five.  This is my third
year at St. Pius X.  I came to St. Pius X School with over 35
years of teaching experience.  I have taught all ages preschool
to adult and even spent time as a full time vice principal. 
My greatest joys have been in the classroom with my students.

       I am a graduate of UCLA and attended graduate school at the University of San Diego.  I received my teaching credential and Masters in Education.  Many years later I returned to USD and
received an MA in Marriage, Child and Family Counseling. 
My greatest achievement, however, was successfully
surviving the rigors of parenthood in raising my daughter,
Ericka.  She is now married and our family now includes
her husband Michael.  I come from a large family and
spending time with family is one of my top priorities. 
Someday soon, I hope my family continues to grow
when my daughter makes me a grandma.

     Until then, I enjoy a variety of down time activities.  I play
the piano and the guitar, sew, cook, and crochet. I also enjoy
going to the movies and playing video games.  My greatest passion and love is reading.  When not doing schoolwork, you will find me curled up in a corner reading my favorite book on my Kindle, my electronic reader.  My favorite scripture passage is the following:  "What is right has been told to you, this is what Yahweh asks of you:  to act justly, to love tenderly and to walk humbly with your God."  Micah 6:8  I try hard to live by this passage.  I may not always succeed, but I do try.
